Tempus Lorem

Travis A. Richards

"Travis Richards proves time and time again that his body is housing an incredible amount of talent that needs to be seen and heard by the world."

- Tawmis Logue (Neverending Nights)

Over the years, I have developed a love for composing music, but it wasn't until recently that I started to apply my knowledge of music theory to my compositions.  I remember sitting at the piano as a kid "making up" songs and driving my parents crazy.  Now my compositions include everything from full orchestras to chamber ensembles and solo pieces.

I began my study in music at a young age and developed it through my schooling.  I picked up the trombone at the age of 12 and haven't stopped playing it since.  I am studying for my Trombone Performance degree at Northern Kentucky University.  I have performed with many ensembles at NKU, and other ensembles such as NK Brass and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra.

Besides studying and performing as a trombone player, I compose.  I am studying Composition along with my Trombone Performance at Northern Kentucky University.   Graduation is in sight and I will be moving on to persue a Masters Degree in Composition.

I compose many different types of music.   My main focus at the moment is to compile a portfolio I will use to apply to schools for my Masters degree studies.  Besides the portfolio, I compose many things for NK Brass Quintet which I perform with.  There are many of my compositions, inspired from film and video game composers, that can be found on this website.  Thanks to Finale and EastWest/Quantam Leap, these compositions have grown out of the pencil manuscripts into what can be found here on this website.

I am a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and ASCAP.

Enjoy your visit!
