Music
Listed below are some of my completed compositions. Please contact me if you would like more information about my compositions.
Concert Band:
Pioneer - (Sample: 1, 2, 3) This piece tells a story of the early Mormon Pioneers who crossed the great plains to escape persecution. Pioneer was premiered by the Northern Kentucky University Symphonic Winds on December 10th, 2009.
Brass Choir:
Vervo Spirituoso - (Sample) This is a piece composed for a Brass Choir setting. The piece was dedicated to a retiring professor, Dr. Gresham, at Northern Kentucky University. It was premiered in March of 2009 at Greaves Concert Hall by the Northern Kentucky University Brass Choir.
Epic - (Sample) This is a multi-movement piece (1. Gateway, 2. Descent, 3. Abyss, 4. Finale). The piece describes an adventure into the underworld, inspired by the old "Epics" such as Beowulf. It was premiered on March 18, 2010 by the Northern Kentucky University Brass Choir.
Heavy Metal - Written in the summer of 2010, Heavy Metal is a 5 minute composition with influences from Rock, mainly Metal. This piece was premiered on November 11, 2010 by the Northern Kentucky University Brass Choir.
Chamber:
Third Person (Brass Quintet) - A Short work for the NK Brass. It is very simple, and very "Hollywood."
Buccaneer's Den (Trombone Quartet) - This was composed specifically for my Senior Trombone Recital. It has a very pirate-like feel to it. This was premiered by T-Bone Q.
Multifare (Brass Quintet) - This piece takes many popular melodies from film, video game, and classical and puts them together in a short fanfare. It was premiered by the NK Brass on March 30th, 2010.
Posterus Haud Magis (Brass Quintet) - This piece was composed in a very short time frame and reflects some very angry emotions I had at that time. The name means "No More Future" or "Nothing Hereafter" (...and it is not a very good translation).
Drive (Brass Quintet) - Drive is a short fanfare.
Soar (Brass Quintet) - I wrote this on an airplane flight from Chicago to Cincinnati.
Carousel Suite (Brass Quintet) - This is a composition based on my childhood fear of Carousels.
Short Race for Two Trombones (T-bone Duet) - This is a small piece written for my junior recital. It is a "race" between two trombone players.
Solo:
Trombolo Series (Trombolo, Dos Trombolos, Basso Trombolio) - This is a series of three unaccompanied trombone solos. They are meant to get the performer out of his/her comfort zone and perform the music and not just play it.
Solitude - This is a soothing and simple Trombone solo with a piano accompaniment.
Fission - I wrote this as a project in early 2010. It is a Piano Solo with a mixed accompaniment of Two Trumpets, Tenor Sax, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drum Set and Percussion. The piece is about the Piano Soloist's split decisions to play either Classical or Pop and it goes back and forth as if the Soloist was in the practice room.
Neverending Nights Soundtrack:
I composed the music for FNBH Productions' Neverending Nights Machinima. I am currently writing the soundtrack for the third season which should be starting soon. See the Links page for more information.
MP3/Sound Library:
This is a list of compositions I created with computer software. The orchestration is usually a full Orchestra. Many of these are inspired by Film and Video Game music and are meant for use within those realms.
